Optional routes to Geiranger

  • E6 From south

    The fastest route from Oslo.

    Ordinary drive along E6 to Otta. From there a very nice drive through Otta-valley.

    Higlight is coming down towards Geiranger.

  • From north "Trollstigen"

    Recommended!

    Be aware! This road is not opened for the season at time of writing.

    Check at Vegvesen.no "Trollstigen".
    This may cause google-maps to redirect. Verify correct guidance.

  • From the Oslo region "without E6"

    Including scienic road "Valdresflye".

    Nice roads througth the valleys. Slower than E6, but no big detour.

  • Entering Norway from the south, in Kristiansand

    If you arrive with a ferry from Denmark, the quickest route is still through Oslo and E6.

    However. You can spend two very nice days avoiding the main roads. Or several days if you choose all the nice alternatives along the route.
